SESSION HIGHLIGHTS:
Some of those words in the title might have you reaching for the dictionary – but don’t worry, what lies beneath the modern terminology is a sensible and current day approach to helping young learners develop their competence in English. This session will highlight:
The value of learning through play (edutainment) and the contribution of playing games (gamification) to the learning / teaching environment.
The benefits of linking English to other parts of the curriculum in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL).
Above all, the session intends to show the value of an enjoyable and rewarding primary learning environment, and will be illustrated with material from the new Pearson primary course Islands.
